We’re thrilled to see strong community engagement as Hilliard, OH works through their housing study. Residents attended the first public meeting on December 3rd to provide feedback on the city’s comprehensive housing needs assessment.
As 10TV reports, “With Hilliard’s population projected to climb by nearly 17,000 residents over the next three decades, city leaders have launched a comprehensive housing study aimed at determining what types of homes the community needs — and where they should go.”
The study is being guided by a 10-member Housing Steering Committee and stems from the city’s 2023 comprehensive plan. With Hilliard’s population expected to grow from 37,000 to 54,000 by 2050, the study will deliver policy recommendations, zoning changes, and potential incentive programs to guide development over the next 20-plus years.
“We want to understand the community’s values on housing type and the placement of that housing,” said Jackie Yeoman, Hilliard’s deputy planning director. “This engagement piece is critical.”
Residents can submit feedback through an online survey open through December 22. City council is expected to review and vote on whether to adopt the study’s findings in May 2026.
